The Garden
The first things that visitors to Herrtorps Qvarn notice are the garden and the beautiful location. If you follow the path across the bridge to the island, you reach a lush wild garden, where you can take a stroll among the small streams, bridges and paths, accompanied by the sound of running water. There is a small pond, lined with hostas and lilies, and with a waterlily bobbing on the surface. Look closely, and you may just spot a crayfish hiding beneath the foliage of the calla lilies. Keep following the path as it continues beneath the forest canopy. On both sides, the ground is covered in low plants and herbs, nestling between the thick tree trunks. It smells of earth, vegetation and water. A bumblebee buzzes past … this place is truly peaceful.
